The next time someone calls you and says "I'm need someone to come to my house and fix ___________. Do you do that ?" The reason they had to call and ask if you do that thing is unfortunately its not already listed on your website or maybe it is but you need more exposure. What do you do? You write an entire article around fixing that particular issue. Of course some people will use that information and go do the job themselves, don't look at that like a loss. You probably were not going to do business with that person anyways, they were looking how to do it for free. A majority of your blog readers will call you to fix their problems for them because they already know you're capable of accomplishing the task.
Social media isn't just a tool to share pictures with your friends, your already on there anyways, might as well share the blog post you just worked so hard on. It can get some real exposure for your blog and generate good traffic that will get real customers to call you.
Total time invested in a single blog post should be under 1 hour for a blog about your small business. There should be minimal research, you are the source of information, your blog is their to display your knowledge. Remember that and becomes super easy to get the words out on the page. You should have some fun with this, it doesn't have to be impeccably written and super formal. As long as you are right clicking all of the red underlined words on the screen and fixing them your should be golden. As long as the spelling of words is right, you shouldn't have any issues getting readers and turning them into customers. You might be wondering how to get a blog.
